We are proud to announce that Post Boxes UK has recently secured an order to supply a bank of 90 mailboxes for an existing block of residential apartments in Manchester. This is not necessarily out of the ordinary or anything special, but it is worth noting that the client chose PBUK rather than it’s original mailbox supplier. And for good reason.
Chinese mailboxes lasted less than 12 months
The client had already purchased a bank of 90 mailboxes just under 12 months ago from another mailbox supplier. The units in question were a budget version of our best selling H300-1 post box, but manufactured in China. Accordingly the quality of these Chinese units is debatable to say the least. Sub standard features included low quality locks with supposedly 200 differs (and yet most keys opened most locks!), hinges which came loose easily resulting in sagging doors, and paint work which bubbled and flaked.
There was even signs of oxidisation (rust to you and me), on mailboxes which were located internally. This may sound far fetched, but there is moisture in internal environments also, and if the steel from which the mailbox has been manufactured hasn’t been galvanised, and the paintwork is compromised, then oxidisation can occur.
False economy
