With the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games now over, the UK is celebrating it most successful medal haul ever. In the Olympic Games Team GB won 65 medals in total; twenty nine gold medals; seventeen silver medals; and nineteen bronze medals. In the Paralympic Games Team GB won thirty four gold medals; forty three silver medals; and forty three bronze medals.
Between them, both teams won a total of sixty three gold medals. So one would expect that the Royal Mail have painted sixty three gold post boxes around the UK, to honour our winning athletes. But you’d be wrong! The Royal Mail have in fact painted a total of ninety three gold post boxes at various location around the British Isles.
