GARC International – secure letterboxes for flats and apartments
One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of high security mailboxes and bespoke letterbox systems, is closing it’s doors for the final time. On 31st March 2020, after over 30 years of business the team at GARC International are to say goodbye.
Richard Stonebridge, owner of GARC International recently advised Post Boxes UK that he would reluctantly be closing the business. He confirmed the time had come for the business to shut.
Tough, uncompromising and robust
Over the years, GARC mailboxes have become renowned for being tough and uncompromising in the face of an increasingly harsh world. Having to put up with whatever the British weather could throw at them, and in more recent times, the attentions of some of our light fingered friends, with weather protecting surrounds and roof systems, and anti fishing baffles, GARC bespoke letterbox systems for flats and apartments have proved themselves more than up to the job.
Being manufactured from 2mm zinc galvanised steel and stainless steel, and powder coated to any RAL finish to suit a client’s requirements, with high security locks and combination locking systems, the GARC product offering helped to keep residents delivered mail safe and secure – anti theft mailboxes which mean business.

The company’s product range included models such as the model 3829A (290x380x205mm width, height, depth), model 3829B (290x205x380mm width, height, depth), and the low profile model 3829C (290x100x380mm width, height, depth).
Indeed, the company had carved itself a reputation for creating some truly bespoke solutions. Some marvelous productions over the years have included in front out side high capacity units, units with a utterly gorgeous American Oak surround, and free-standing external units with a sloping roof manufactured completely from marine grade 316 stainless steel.

There aren’t many letterbox manufacturers nowadays who will work with AISI 316 due to the expensive nature of the material. However, GARC International, as no-nonsense engineers they were the kind of outfit who excelled at this type of project and specification. Their steely (sorry!) determination to find a solution to a client’s particular site requirements always endured, a pragmatic approach which helped cement their reputation as the UK’s leading bespoke manufacturer.

Post Boxes UK had offered GARC mailboxes for over 8 years to it’s clients’ who required robust, uncompromising anti-theft and heavy duty units. During that time, we only ever received praise for the product and service; not one complaint in all that time.
At the time of writing, the website at www.garcinternational.co.uk is still live.
So with heavy heart, we bid a fond farewell to GARC International and say a huge thank you to Richard and the team at the factory for all the years of fantastic service. From all at Post Boxes UK, we wish you a well earned retirement Richard. Many many thanks!!
